Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of engineering, physics and materials science for analysis, design (AutoCAD), manufacturing (CAM) and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. This sector has been helping the world for the overall development and it has been creating wage employment opportunities both in public and private sectors.

The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) program is the core program of the department. The department gives strong emphasis on facilitating learning by doing process for the students. Each subject is given adequate practical components. Continuous improvement in the curriculum and course delivery method is always sought.

The program provides a strong foundation on basic science subjects in first two semesters and core mechanical subjects in the remaining four semesters. DME program is designed with the purpose of producing middle level technical human resources equipped with knowledge and skills related to Mechanical Engineering. Students perform different projects and visit different industries during the course, so that they can have the knowledge and the skills required for engineering implementation.
