Automobile Department is one of the departments in KNIT. At present, only KNIT is running Diploma in Automobile Engineering program under CTEVT. This department is equipped and facilitated with latest high technology tools and equipment. This sector has been helping the world for the overall development and it has been creating wage employment opportunities both in public and private sectors.
The Diploma in Automobile Engineering (DAE) program is the core program of the department. Besides, this department conducts short term training courses related to automobile engineering. The department gives strong emphasis on facilitating learning by doing process for the students. Each subject is given adequate practical components. Continuous improvement in the curriculum and course delivery method is always sought.
The program provides a strong foundation on basic science subjects in first two semesters and core automobile engineering subjects in the remaining four semesters. DAE program is designed with the purpose of producing middle level technical human resources equipped with knowledge and skills related to Automobile Engineering.
Students visit different industries during the course and gain experience of real work during industrial attachment so that they can have the knowledge and the skills required for engineering implementation.
